Hélène Labadie is a French artist; she lives and works in Paris. Trained in Design and Space, she began her career in Amsterdam, where she assisted various designers. This immersion in the freedom and experimentation characteristic of Dutch design gradually led her to move away from objects and devote herself fully to sculpture and installation. Hélène Labadie develops a practice situated between sculpture, installation, and material exploration, nourished by a deep fascination with cinema. Graduating from ESAD Reims with highest honors, she explores the Arts of Fire — glass and ceramics — while repurposing everyday objects to reveal their hidden narratives and subtle resonances. Hollywood aesthetics, the artificiality of studios, and the construction of the American myth permeate her work, which oscillates between reality and artifice, familiarity and strangeness.
She has participated in several residencies, including Villa Belleville and Roccabella Sculpture in southern France. She is currently in residence at Poush Manifesto.
In 2024, she co-founded STRIKE with the artist Maxime Testu, a space dedicated to experimental practices.
